Chief Engineer – Marine
Amazing opportunity to work in the UK, as part of the crew running the Engineering function and associated equipment.

Location: UK – Various locations
Salary: £60,000 basic + Healthcare + Pension
Working 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off.

Role Description:

The Resolute Group is working in partnership with an international Marine organisation supporting their growth across the UK and Europe. With a focus on increasing their Chief Engineers due to the new shipping coming into service.Living on the ship for 2 weeks at a time your location doesn’t matter when it comes to where you live. If you are in the UK, Ireland, Europe, or anywhere in the world we are happy to speak to you. This multi-cultural organisation welcomes Engineers from anywhere as long as they have a good work ethic and a background in Marine Engineering. 

Key duties
  • The Chief Engineer will ensure that all machinery on board the vessels is maintained in good working order at all times.
  • Be responsible for the safe operation of the vessel's engines, generators and associated machinery and equipment.
  • To ensure that all machinery (deck and engine) is maintained to operational standards at all times.
  • To take responsibility for ownership of the vessel's machinery spaces, keeping the engine room and area clean and tidy and free of hazards at all times.
  • Report to the Master and Superintendent Engineer any breakdowns or faults with the vessels.
  • Liaising closely with the Superintendent at all times to arrange repairs either internally or with external contractors.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and repairs as and when required, and to take responsibility for ensuring that the Planned Maintenance System is carried out onboard vessels.
  • To work as member of a small, close-knit team onboard, accepting inter-departmental duties, involving both deck and engine roles.

Job Requirement

Qualifications
  • STCW III/3 <6000kW, III/2 Unlimited preferred but training will be provided as long as you have been time-served as an Engineer on large vessels.
  • Engineering qualification be in apprenticed trained or degree to demonstrate your technical skill set.
  • Ability to thoroughly analyse all engineering situations & to submit detailed and accurate written and oral reports.
  • Fault diagnosis and rectification for all the major machinery on board vessels
  • Excellent communication skills (English)
  • Able to live for 2 weeks at a time on a large vessel
