Hybrid working: 3 days per week in the office / 2 days WfH
Salary: Basic Salary £120,000 - £140,000 + Railway Pension + Travel Expenses
Job type: Permanent – Full Time
West Coast Partnership Development’s PMO Director will lead on the delivery of future high-speed services in the UK and it’s one of the most iconic projects in the history of British transport.
Role Profile:
The Resolute Group have exclusively partnered with the directorate of West Coast Development Partnership (WCPD) in identifying and securing a Programme Management Office (PMO) Director.
West Coast Partnership Development is a trusted partner of the Department for Transport (DfT) who are working towards creating and implementing the operations for High Speed 2 Ltd (HS2). Working to design, develop and mobilise the high-speed service operations which will deliver benefits including more capacity, quicker journey times and a step-change in customer experience.
The PMO Director will be leading a high-functioning PMO team that supports the delivery of the WCPD programme. Through the provision of PMO Services, Programme & Strategic Planning, Programme Management and Resourcing. Ensuring the business meets the current needs of programme delivery, governance, compliance and assurance. The team will be focussed on current needs being met efficiently and resiliently and is effectively right sized in anticipation of future requirements.
The key requirements include having an established contract and stakeholder management experience, working within a political environment. Ensuring productive, effective and efficient relationships with key stakeholders including:
This is a business-critical role with the PMO Director playing an instrumental part in the smooth delivery of the Operations plan, taking a concept strategy and then implementing a mobilisation strategy. The PMO function is key within this organisation reporting to the Managing Director, working with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and managing a team of 17 professionals that will be increasing in size each year as the programme moves towards a full operational control of HS2.
Qualifications & Experience:
Previous PMO experience leading a large diverse team.Working within a multi-stakeholder programme including a government body or central government function.Degree ideally to support your experience at operating at this level.
