Technical Director - Mechanical Engineering

Excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead and drive the growth of an expanding M&E team within an international engineering and design consultancy.

Location: London
Salary: £80,000 - £105,000 + Package benefits

Job Description:
The Resolute Group is working in partnership with an International Engineering and Design Consultancy to assist with expanding their M&E Team, focusing on Data Centre projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for data centre projects, ensuring high standards of mechanical engineering design, development, and implementation.
  • Manage the design and integration of mechanical installations, systems, equipment, and facilities to meet project requirements.
  • Develop and implement controls, instrumentation, and operational systems for building engineering services applications.
  • Conduct technical reviews, assessments, and surveys of existing installations, producing detailed reports with recommendations for improvements.
  • Define specifications for manufacturing, construction, installation, and testing to ensure project delivery meets functional and client expectations.
  • Represent the company in technical discussions with clients, stakeholders, and contractors.
  • Oversee and mentor intermediate and junior engineers, ensuring quality contributions to design projects.
  • Ensure all engineering calculations, drawings, and documentation align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards it is highly desirable.

Skills and Experience:
  • Extensive experience (7+ years) in mechanical engineering design for data centre or mission-critical projects.
  • Strong understanding of UK building regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage complex technical projects from concept through to completion.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and relevant engineering software.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of building effective client relationships.
  • Proven ability to manage teams, delegate effectively, and ensure quality outputs.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Experience working with BIM and digital design tools is desirable.
